Next week we are kicking-off our Data Innovation Project with an event in Istanbul that brings together all the participating teams and the experts from the leading institutes and organisations for a hands-on ideation workshop.

This project seeks to test out alternative sources of data and/or new analytical methodologies, (e.g., phone, geo-spatial, social media, sensors) for the measurements of SDGs (sustainable development goals), where there is no established methodology yet.
Later, the findings will be used for national SDG policy-making and reporting.
It will span across 13 countries – Albania, Macedonia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Botswana, Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Maldives, Pakistan, Armenia, Mongolia and India. All these countries have committed to testing out new approaches and have recommended key indicators that they would like to explore.
